Garden Guests

Thamnophis sirtalis parietals, The Red Sided Garter Snake has a broader flatter head than in the  books, and very feisty, acting more like a pit viper. Coiled up in broad daylight on an open piece of ground. I love the eye color.

OK, it’s not really a guest, because this o’possum, America’s only marsupial, lives under a storage shed not far from the trash can it was not able to climb out of the night before…   Yes, when I turned over the can to let it out,  it played “itself”, pretending to not be alive.  I slowly tipped over the can, it resurrected itself, and ambled off.

Pretty cute, huh?

Of course, none of the junk food was mine. .
